Creating realistic expectations is one of Carmen’s biggest takeaways after working with me. She thought she would fly right through this process. She shares her journey through the writing process. Especially your first book you are figuring out what works for you, and what doesn’t. Be willing to be flexible and teachable.

Life happens. Know your writing project may not evolve as fast as you would like. Children become sick, and parents need your help as well as job changes may occur along the way. Life is not always kind to your writing schedule. Give yourself grace and readjust. It is better to take your time than to throw a book together poorly and share it with the world.
