What Are Your Top Three Priorities?

“You either run the day or the day runs you.

And when the day runs you,
the track rarely leads to growth.”

~ Todd Herman ~

For years productivity gurus told you to manage your time. However, according to Todd Herman, “You absolutely, 100% CANNOT manage time.” This concept may sound strange at first, but after you listen to Todd, you understand why. Time marches on doing its thing. Gravity does its job of keeping us from floating off into space. Neither one of them we can control or stop.

So, then what is the answer? You can manage activities and yourself.

Are you on the hamster wheel of activity?

My husband used to tell me I was trying to do too many things at once. I brushed him off. He did not understand my business.

Then as I was working through the 90 Day Year program Todd Herman shared something valuable to change the way I worked my business. If you are going ten different directions each week, what are you accomplishing? In my case, not much. I was working hard going nowhere fast.

The beauty and simplicity of the 90 Day Year program by taking all my ideas and focusing on what will propel my business forward. He shares a great system to narrow down all the great ideas floating around in your head to concentrate on three projects at a time. Focus is key! He teaches this so eloquently in the 90 Day Year program which opened this week!

I share some ways to start managing your activities today!

Wait! Time Management is a Myth! So, what can you manage? Learn more here! Tips From #TheWriteCoach

Three Tips To Manage Your Activities:

1) Choose 3 top priorities to work on each day.
2) Be mindful of “trivial activities.” Checking Facebook, scanning the news app, or phone calls/text to take at another time.
3) Have flexibility in your day. Do not schedule every minute of your day out. Leave room for the unexpected or to help someone with a problem on a project.
